How to get rid of pop-ups... March 24, 2002 KaZaA. Is it your friend or foe? If you're questing for porn, programs, or music and/or videos, you may reply "friend". If you're bombarded with pop-ups, Bonzi Buddies, and spyware, you may reconsider. Enter KaZaA Lite. It's KaZaA without the annoying popups and Bonzi Buddy ads. It's unethical, you say. Removing the ads that fund such a brilliant program can't be a very smart thing, or every file-sharing utility will be a pay-to-use service, say some naysayers. Come on, it's like me charging my good friends money to burn CD's for them, or, worse yet, making them listen to Earth, in exchange for burning discs for them. If you feel guilty, don't do it. Otherwise, check it out. Be sure to do a Google search for "spyware", "Cydoor", or "pop-ups" to find out what else is squatting on your computer. |
